WOW! Video Surfaces of Obamacare Architect Claiming ‘Stupidity of the American Voter’ Got the Law Passed

One of the principal architects of the President’s health care law was caught on camera at a conference telling people that the administration got the law passed because of the political advantage of lacking transparency, as well as “the stupidity of the American voter.”

Jonathan Gruber, an MIT professor who was under contract with the Department of Health and Human Services, made the statements during a 2013 panel discussion on Obamacare.

Video (seen below) has now surfaced:

This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scores the mandate as taxes the bill dies. So it’s written to do that… If you get a law that says healthy people are going to pay and sick people would get money, it would not have passed.

Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And, basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really very very critical to get the thing to pass. And, you know, it’s the second best argument. I wish Mark was right we could make this transparent but I would rather have this law than not.

Apparently, Gruber and the administration also felt the justices residing on the Supreme Court were also stupid. After writing the bill “in a tortured way” to prevent the CBO from scoring it as such, the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act precisely because itwas a tax.

How do you feel hearing from the man who helped bring you Obamacare, that it could only have happened because the American voter was to stupid to understand what they were doing?
