White House: It Doesn’t Matter How Long the Shutdown Lasts Because ‘We’re Winning’

If you ever needed more proof that the Democrats and this administration are governed only by scoring political points and not by what is important to the American people, then check out this quote from a senior White House official.

Via the Wall Street Journal:

Said a senior administration official: “We are winning…It doesn’t really matter to us” how long the shutdown lasts “because what matters is the end result.”

This piece at the Huffington Post critiques such a callous comment.

Obviously, polling data would support this contention and certainly, from the conversations I’ve had with senior administration officials, the White House feels that it has the upper hand. But to say you don’t care how long the shutdown lasts is to suggest that the impact it’s having throughout the country isn’t factoring into your strategic thinking. And that’s not exactly the impression you want to leave.

This President and his administration do not care what impression is left.  And they certainly don’t care about the will of the American people. They care about winning.  It is all they know.
