Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) has refused to respond to requests for e-mail correspondence between left-wing terrorist, James Hodgkinson, and his office.
The Associated Press had reported that the gunman who opened fire on a Republican congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, had been “in email contact with the two Democratic senators from his home state.”
Hodgkinson was from Belleville, Illinois, making his home-state senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth.

Durbin’s office turned down requests for copies of the e-mails from the Daily Caller, instead claiming they’d been turned over to investigators.
When The Daily Caller reached out to Sen. Durbin’s office, we received this comment, “Mr. Hodgkinson contacted our office to state his opinion on a variety of legislation over the years. Those emails were all given to USCP and are part of the current investigation.
When TheDC asked for more details, or whether they planned to publicly release the emails Hodgkinson sent, no response was received.
TheDC also repeatedly contacted Sen. Duckworth’s office looking for a comment or a release of the emails, but received no response.
Hillary Clinton once famously turned over e-mails to investigators, where it was later realized some of them had been lost, some had been wiped away with BleachBit, and others had fallen victim to hammers.
Let’s hope Durbin’s don’t get lost down the same black hole.

Why not just hand them over, Mr. Durbin? Did they contain warnings of the would-be assassins plans? Did your office reply back? So many questions that could be avoided if the e-mails were simply released.
In discussing allegations of so-called Russian collusion, Durbin previously called out President Trump by saying “If he has nothing to hide, (he) should help us clear this up once and for all.”
We agree completely with Senator Durbin. Live up to that same standard. Release the e-mails and clear this issue up once and for all.
