A reporter on Wednesday repeatedly asked Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar to comment on recent fraud allegations, to which she repeatedly refused.
The exchange comes after reports from normally Democrat-friendly sources have surfaced indicating Omar may have committed tax fraud and married her own brother in an attempt to circumvent immigration laws.
The Rebel’s Keean Bexte pressed Omar on the matter to no avail.
“Ilhan, if I could get a moment time, if I could get a moment of your time, could you tell me why you filed illegal tax returns in 2014 and 2015?” Bexte asks. “Can you tell me definitively or not, is Ahmed Elmi your brother? Is he your brother?”

Why Is This a Hard Question?
Why is a question about whether or not your husband is actually your brother a difficult one to answer? And before we go dismissing this as a right-wing reporter badgering a Democrat, be sure to note that even the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, a liberal newspaper, would be interested in the answer to this question.
These allegations, reported in conservative spheres for years, are now getting a little sunlight in the mainstream media.
“New investigative documents released by a state agency have given fresh life to lingering questions about the marital history of Rep. Ilhan Omar and whether she once married a man — possibly her own brother — to skirt immigration laws,” the Tribune wrote this past weekend.
Tucker Carlson on Ilhan Omar’s alleged marriage and immigration fraud: “Omar herself could probably clear that up if she wanted to but so far her office has persistently refused to answer any questions on the matter”

Earlier this month, the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board ruled that Omar repeatedly violated campaign finance law by using campaign funds to pay for personal expenses while serving on the state legislature in 2016 and 2017.
She was ordered to personally reimburse her campaign thousands of dollars and pay a civil fine of $500.
Lying within those reports was the fact that, according to the Board’s findings, Omar filed joint tax returns with her current husband, Ahmed Hirsi, in 2014 and 2015, even though she was still engaged in civil marriage with Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.
She divorced Elmi in 2017 and married Hirsi in 2018.
Documents reviewed by Bexte, according to his report, “indicate that while Omar was allegedly married to her brother, she was also living with another husband in Minneapolis.”
If Omar isn’t interested in answering these questions, perhaps she will when they’re coming from federal IRS officials.
