Watch: George W. Bush Offers Secret to Work/Life Balance

What does it take to be a great leader?

Priorities.

That, according to former President George W. Bush, is exactly what it takes, as he offered up advice he learned from his father, George H.W. Bush.

One fan recently asked Bush about work/life balance: “What was your philosophy that has celebrated a wonderful marriage with children that admire you so much; but yet you were able to be successful as a leader with great responsibility and amazing accomplishments?”

Bush replied that his father taught him to set priorities. The first being a “good husband,” the other being a “great father.”

He said 41 “was both, a great husband and a great father.”

W. would add that one “can be busy in life… but if you set priorities and live by those priorities, you can make an enormous difference to your children.”
