If you thought the media’s obsession with all things Trump and Russia couldn’t get any more ridiculous you’d be wrong … very wrong.
The Washington Post – you know, the one that claims ‘Democracy Dies in Darkness’ – inexplicably drew a link between President Trump’s love of hamburgers and the leftist media’s favorite bogeyman, Russia.
No seriously, they did.
It’s not a subtle conspiracy connection either, with a screaming headline which reads: “Even one of Trump’s favorite foods has a hidden Russia connection.”
“Peel back the oil-spattered pages of history, and you’ll find that the sandwich so closely aligned with the stars and stripes,” the unintentionally hilarious column reads, “was once also embraced by the hammer and sickle.”
In case you weren’t grasping the Russia/Trump connection here, the column adds, “Yep, like so much about this current administration, even Trump’s beloved hamburgers have surprising ties to Russia.”
Good God, man!

Comedian Tim Young, who has an understanding of what satire is, said he initially thought this was what he was looking at here.
“At first you read this thinking its satire,” he tells Fox News. “Then, sadly, it hits you that the Washington Post has gone full-on tinfoil hat conspiracy theory garbage.”
The Post goes on to compare Trump’s love of burgers with that of Communist Party member and head of Russia’s ministry of food in 1936 under Joseph Stalin, Anastas Mikoyan.
“Mikoyan shared Trump’s opinion of fast food. He was a great admirer,” they quote a sociologist as saying.
How in the hell did Robert Mueller not find this obvious connection between the Trump campaign and Russia? Impeach!
Guess Who Else Loves Burgers?
The Washington Post might not believe this, but former President Barack Obama was pretty well known for sneaking a burger here and there when his wife wasn’t looking.
In 2014, the same newspaper gushed over Obama and vice president Joe Biden taking employees from a reconstruction project to the Shake Shack for a few burgers and fries.
Not only did the Post fail to note the Russia connection (maybe that’s why he didn’t do anything about Russian interference in the 2016 election), but the report hailed hamburgers as a means to improving America’s infrastructure.
Again, yes, they seriously did.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, also appears to like hamburgers and, like a good Communist, also believes the common folk shouldn’t be privy to them.
Hi AOC, why is your Chief of Staff eating a hamburger? smh pic.twitter.com/sJanAC1Oz2

What’s Next, Russia Conspiracy Loons?
Former White House Spokesman Sean Spicer joked once that the media would find Russia collusion if the President ate the wrong food.
“If the President puts Russian salad dressing on his salad tonight, somehow that’s a Russia connection,” he said.
With this investigative report on hamburgers, maybe it wasn’t a joke after all. Who knows what smoking gun connection they’ll find between the President and Russia next?
