Trump Fights Back: Claims Media Partly Responsible For ‘Anger and Rage’ in this Country

President Trump lashed out at the ‘fake news’ media Monday morning, saying they are in part responsible for the level of anger in this country.

There’s little doubt that he’s correct.

The last 48 hours have seen a barrage of fingerpointing in the direction of the President over a pair of mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.

The media have been coordinating their messaging with Democrats in casting blame in the direction of Trump, his supposed ‘violent’ rhetoric being a catalyst for the shootings.

The President turned the tables, however, saying “the Media has a big responsibility to life and safety in our Country.”

“Fake News has contributed greatly to the anger and rage that has built up over many years,” he added.

He’s Right

They’re doing it even as we speak, infuriatingly suggesting the President is somehow responsible for these horrific incidences, pretending mass shootings never happened under previous administrations, and falsely accusing the President of being a “white nationalist” in the mold of at least one of these killers.

They’ve done so by giving Democrats carte blanch to make wild accusations and never once correcting them.

For example, CNN’s Jake Tapper allowed Beto O’Rourke to run roughshod over the truth, blaming Trump and Fox News for the violence, and claiming the President’s words are akin to the Third Reich in Nazi Germany.

These are white men, motivated by the kind of fear this president traffics in. The mosque in Victoria, Texas, was burned to the ground on the same day that President Trump signed his order [sic] attempting to ban Muslim travel to the United States of America [sic], when he says after Charlottesville that Klansman and white supremacists and neo-Nazis are “very fine people” [sic], the commander-in-chief is sending a very public signal to the rest of this country about what is permissible, and in fact even what he encourages to happen. So let’s connect the dots here on what is happening and why it is happening and who is responsible for this right now. … You don’t get mass shootings like these [sic], you don’t torch mosques, you don’t put kids in cages [sic] until you have a president who has given people permission to do that and that is exactly what is happening in the United States of America today.

The latter is something O’Rourke has said before, as he, like so many of his colleagues, are obsessed with Nazis.

Tapper’s Folly

What’s reprehensible here is that Tapper, tail tucked firmly between his legs, didn’t bother to correct any of the obvious lies. You know, as he surely would have done if President Trump was speaking?

At any point, the CNN host could have interjected and said there was no such thing as a Muslim ban. That the media-driven Charlottesville hoax has already been debunked. Or maybe when Beto said, “You don’t get mass shootings like these,” it would have been fairly easy to point out that mass shootings have taken place during numerous previous administrations.

By allowing Democrats to lie with impunity, Tapper, CNN, and the media are complicit in the anger, rage, and violence building in this country over many years, generating well before Trump.

In addition to Tapper’s embarrassing lack of integrity, MSNBC’s Ali Velshi called for a war against “white” nationalism and warning Americans that they were more likely to get attacked by white nationalists than Islamic terrorists.

Go on social media right now, and at any point, the mainstream liberals will be pushing conspiracy theories over President Trump’s alleged racism and violent rhetoric. #WhiteSupremacistInChief quickly began trending after the shootings.

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney slammed the messaging coming from the left.

“These are sick, sick people and the president knows it,” Mulvaney said. “But I don’t think it’s fair to lay this at the feet of the president.”
