Rules and regulations for thee, but not for me. Or so seems the policy of a senior adviser to the de Blasio administration.
When Rachel Noerdlinger isn’t spending time snuggling up with her convicted killer boyfriend, falsifying background checks, or getting pulled over in a pot-reeking vehicle with an underage passenger, she is busy racking up parking tickets – and then failing to pay her fines.
Rachel Noerdlinger, the embattled aide to Mayor Bill de Blasio, can’t seem to find a place to park her car — legally.
Noerdlinger owes $875.61 on nine parking tickets her Mercedes-Benz got in the past year in The Bronx and Manhattan. All except one of the summonses were issued since she was appointed chief of staff to de Blasio’s wife, city Finance Department records show.
Noerdlinger — a former spokeswoman for the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network — has a $180.61 judgment against her for the oldest ticket, which was issued on Nov. 7, 2013, when her black 2004 Mercedes-Benz was parked in front of a fire hydrant near NAN’s Harlem headquarters, according to records.
The report also mentions an incident in September of 2013, in which Noerdlinger pulled away from a gas pump with the nozzle still firmply implanted in the gas tank of her Mercedes-Benz. Police records indicate she caused nearly $3,000 in damages.
Despite Noerdlinger’s numerous transgressions and a relationship with a man who once tried to run a police officer down, her role as an attendee at top-level NYPD meetings, or within the administration is not in jeopardy. De Blasio has expressed “full faith” in Noerdlinger’s ability to fill her role.
