Donald Trump got an earful from his nearest challenger, Ted Cruz, who called the Republican front-runner a “sniveling coward” and warned him to “leave Heidi (his wife) the hell alone.”
Quite frankly, Trump had it coming.
The real estate mogul didn’t take kindly to an anti-Trump Super PAC posting pictures of his wife, Melania, from a GQ photo shoot.
Despite the ad clearly stating that it was “not authorized by any candidate or candidate committee” as it was produced by an anti-Trump PAC and not a pro-Cruz PAC, the Donald went after Heidi Cruz, threatening to “spill the beans” on her.
Lyin' Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin' Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!

Cruz responded by saying the ad wasn’t from his campaign, and that if Trump went after his wife he’s “even more of a coward than I thought.”

In the interim, Trump shared an unflattering picture of Heidi Cruz which compared her to Melania.
Cruz again tweeted a classy response:
Donald, real men don't attack women. Your wife is lovely, and Heidi is the love of my life. https://t.co/pprXhIMzUT

But today, Cruz clearly had enough with Trump’s comments about his wife and unleashed some harsh comments.
Via The Blaze:
The battle between two Republican presidential candidates over their spouses escalated even further Thursday as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz seemed to let his emotions get the best of him while defending his wife, Heidi.
“Donald, you’re a sniveling coward, and leave Heidi the hell alone,” Cruz said while speaking to reporters at an event in Wisconsin.
Cruz added that he doesn’t often get angry but added that, if “you mess with my kids, you mess with my wife, that will do it every time.”
Watch Cruz intense reaction below …
While The Blaze describes it as ‘losing his cool,’ Cruz reaction is perfectly understandable considering the amount of vitriol Trump’s clown show has dished out in recent days, let alone over the many months they’ve been campaigning.
