Senator Tammy Duckworth, who once reportedly refused an interview with Tucker Carlson over the removal of statues of American founding fathers, called President Trump a “coward-in-chief.”
Duckworth (D-IL) made her comments during a speech at the virtual Democratic National Convention (DNC) Thursday evening.
The Democrat congresswoman said military members “have a coward-in-chief who won’t stand up to Vladimir Putin, read his daily intelligence briefings, or even publicly admonish adversaries for reportedly putting bounties on our troops’ heads.”
By contrast, presidential nominee Joe Biden, she said, “would never pervert our military to stroke his own ego … or threaten them against Americans peacefully exercising their constitutional rights.”

Duckworth, of course, is referring to the same lie Democrats have been repeating all week about “peaceful protesters” being cleared from the area surrounding St. John’s Church in June.
In reality, law enforcement cleared out violent anarchists who had tried to burn the church down the night before and who pelted officers with various projectiles that very day.
She went on to make the seemingly only argument the resistance party has been able to come up with for putting Biden in the White House … He’s just a decent, likable guy.
“Unlike Trump, Joe Biden has common decency … Donald Trump doesn’t deserve to call himself commander-in-chief for another four minutes — let alone another four years,” she contended.

Not Above Criticism tammy duckworth coward
Duckworth is a combat veteran of the Iraq War, where she suffered severe wounds leading to the loss of both of her legs and some mobility in her right arm.
Her service and sacrifice to this country can never be questioned.
But that doesn’t mean she’s immune to criticism. And lying about ‘peaceful protesters’ is certainly worthy of criticism.
As are her other extremist views – like the opinion that statues of George Washington should be considered for tearing down.
Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson used those comments to suggest Democrat politicians like Duckworth actually hate America.
“It’s long been considered out-of-bounds to question a person’s patriotism. It’s a very strong charge, and we try not ever to make it,” Carlson told viewers. “But in the face of all of this, the conclusion can’t be avoided — these people actually hate America. There’s no longer a question about that.”
He added that it’s odd to see those who hate this country seek control of it.
“Can you really lead a country that you hate?” he asked.
After stirring up controversy because, in the media’s view you can never question the patriotism of someone like Duckworth or the late John McCain, Carlson invited her on the show to debate.
“We wanted to have an exchange like that with Tammy Duckworth tonight. So we called her office, and we invited her on the show,” he explained. “Her flack informed us that before even considering our request, we must first issue a public apology for criticizing Tammy Duckworth.”
Duckworth “is a sitting United States Senator, who is often described as a hero,” Carlson concluded. “Yet Duckworth is too afraid to defend her own statements on a cable TV show. What a coward.”
