In arguing for a bill that would loosen supposed hindrances to free speech, a lawmaker from Tennessee said that ISIS should be allowed to recruit on college campuses.
During debate for the bill, Republican state Rep. Martin Daniel was asked by another representative whether or not ISIS should be able to stand in the middle of university campuses and “recruit for ISIS.”
Daniel’s response? “Yes.”
He likened ISIS recruitment to nothing more than having students “exposed to differing viewpoints.”

Speaking on behalf of a bill centered around free speech, a Knoxville-based lawmaker on Wednesday said a terrorist organization should be allowed to recruit on college campuses in Tennessee.

Remember Anwar al-Awlaki? He recruited for al Qaeda and was directly involved with multiple hijackers from the 9/11 attacks. Should he have been allowed to preach in the middle of a college campus?
After Daniel argued that ISIS recruitment would be just dandy, DeBerry responded by saying “Free speech is one thing; being stupid is another.”
Bear in mind that conservatives are routinely banned from college campuses across the nation. But ISIS, according to this lawmaker, should be welcomed with open arms.
Here’s a report on John Kerry finally labeling ISIS as genocidal …
