Republicans and Democrats report that the Senate Intelligence Committee has been unable to find any evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
The revelation comes after two years of investigations involving over 200 interviews.
While members of the political parties disagree on an ill-defined and so-called “pattern of contacts,” what is indisputable is that both sides concur that there remains “no direct evidence of a conspiracy.”
Democratic Senate investigators who spoke with NBC News did not dispute an assessment made by Chairman of the Committee, Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) last week.
“If we write a report based upon the facts that we have, then we don’t have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia,” Burr said in an interview with CBS News last week.

“We were never going find a contract signed in blood saying, ‘Hey Vlad, we’re going to collude,'” one Democratic aide told NBC.
Perhaps, but that’s exactly what your resistance party was fantasizing about finding during these long two years.
Former Trump Lawyer: Mueller Will Clear Him
A veteran criminal defense attorney who worked with the President during a critical stretch of the Mueller investigation believes the special counsel will say nothing on the case outside of “we’re done.”
“I know exactly what [Mueller] has,” John Dowd told ABC News. “I know exactly what every witness said, what every document said. I know exactly what he asked. And I know what the conclusion or the result is.”
“I don’t think there’ll be a report,” ex Trump lawyer John Dowd told @ABC on “The Investigation,” new podcast focused probe led by special counsel Mueller. “I will be shocked if anything regarding the president is made public, other than ‘We’re done.’” https://t.co/l058FPpHqE

“There’s no basis (for collusion). There’s no exposure,” Dowd claimed adding the entire process has “been a terrible waste of time.”
In an interview with Fox News in November, outgoing House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy predicted that the Mueller investigation would find no evidence of ‘collusion’ with Russia.
No Collusion Makes It a Witch Hunt
President Trump has long dismissed the entire Mueller investigation as a “witch hunt.”
Republicans, and now Democrats, concluding that there is absolutely no evidence of collusion supports that argument.
Senator Richard Burr, The Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, just announced that after almost two years, more than two hundred interviews, and thousands of documents, they have found NO COLLUSION BETWEEN TRUMP AND RUSSIA! Is anybody really surprised by this?

NBC’s report now states that Democrats will issue their own final report in “six or seven months.”
They’ll need time to try and concoct a summary which still manages to blur the lines and allude to possible collusion to their low-information base, despite the clear lack of evidence.
“If I was supervising Mueller, [I would] tell him to ‘knock it off, get it done,” Dowd added.
“Your job is to find out if there’s collusion or there was obstruction,” he said. “And the answer’s ‘no,’ so let’s get on with it.”
