Report: Media’s Biased Coverage of the Election Likely Handed the Presidency to Biden

A study conducted by the Media Research Center suggests biased media coverage may have tilted the election in favor of President-elect Joe Biden.

The study consists of an analysis of eight major news stories that the MRC suggests were not covered appropriately, along with a survey of how that coverage affected the election.

It shows that a very significant 17% of Biden voters would have abandoned the candidate if their knowledge of the issues had been different.


Imagine how many would have actually gravitated to President Trump had the media coverage been even vaguely fair to him and his presidency.

How the Biased Media Helped Biden and Hurt Trump

The topics that the MRC felt were not covered fairly include:

The combination of “burying Biden’s bad news” and “hiding Trump’s successes” proved fatal in swing states, the report claims.

“The left-wing news media didn’t just poison the information environment with their incessantly negative coverage of President Trump going into the 2020 election,” NewsBusters Rich Noyes writes.

“They also refused to give airtime to important arguments of the Republican campaign — both pro-Trump and anti-Biden — which meant millions of voters cast their ballots knowing only what the media permitted them to know about the candidates.”

Noyes adds that the numbers show that one in every six voters would have abandoned Biden if they had heard about or had knowledge of just one of the stories above.

“A shift of this magnitude would have changed the outcome in all six of the swing states won by Joe Biden, and Donald Trump would have comfortably won a second term as president,” Noyes concludes.

The Media Needs to Be Revamped From Top to Bottom

The biased media in America needs a revamping of their role in this nation from the inside out.

None of this is surprising – we’ve seen the reports of over 90% negative coverage for President Trump, we know the ideological leanings of most major news anchors in this country.

It is overwhelmingly liberal.

There is no longer any reporting of facts on major news networks, there is only opining and slanted coverage.

The one arena where President Trump could get his message out to voters was social media, and the Big Tech companies joined establishment media this election season in suppressing information.

Dr. Robert Epstein, a guest with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, explained how the Big Tech companies manipulated the election by influencing voters.


The first thing Epstein and his researchers found was that “Google’s search results were strongly biased in favor of liberals and democrats.”

“This was not true on Bing or Yahoo,” he added. “The bias was being shown to pretty much every demographic group we looked at including conservatives.”

Epstein also claimed that the ‘vote reminder’ feature on Google only went out to liberals, not any of his conservative agents in the field. Google only corrected this ‘mistake’ after Epstein’s team publicly called out the problem.

He added, “These manipulations – the ones that we’ve so far quantified – could easily have shifted at least six million votes in just one direction … that’s the bare minimum at this point.”

Of course, Twitter labeled that claim of voter manipulation by tech giants as “disputed.”

Just as they have with every single post about concerns regarding the integrity of the election.

As for the MRC study, they conclude: “It’s important to note that not all of these voters would have switched to President Trump, of course (although about 6% of Biden’s voters say that’s exactly what they would have done).”

However, “Just by choosing to abandon Biden, these voters would have handed all six of these states, and a second term, to the President — if the news media had properly informed them about the two candidates.”
