BREAKING: Gunman Opens Fire On GOP Baseball Practice, Congressman Shot

A gunman opened fire on the Republican baseball practice Wednesday morning in Alexandria, Va., wounding Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise.
Alexandria police say they have the suspect in custody and confirmed the incident. Scalise was reportedly shot in the hip and is expected to survive.

Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., told Fox News he left just before the shooting. As he walked to his car, a man asked DeSantis if it was Republicans or Democrats practicing. About three minutes the shooting began, DeSantis said.
Senator Rand Paul says the shooting could have been worse.
