The Democrats’ impeachment charade is now leading to defections from “master legislator” and “astute leader” Nancy Pelosi’s caucus. pelosi democrats impeachment

It’s time for Pelosi to stop sitting on the bogus articles of impeachment and send them over to the Senate, or drop the whole thing altogether.

The Washington Post’s Seung Min Kim reports Pelosi “doesn’t have a lot of leverage here and I think the fact that she’s losing members of her own party in the Senate … these Senators come from the most liberal flank of the caucus to the most moderate who are all saying, ‘Let’s get this thing going. We have a job to do. Let’s get this trial moving and get it over with.’”

Is Trump going to win in 2020?

NBC News reports, “A growing number of Democratic senators are saying it’s time for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., to submit the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate.”

While California Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein points out the Democrats’ conundrum: “The longer it goes on the less urgent it becomes. So if it’s serious and urgent, send them over. If it isn’t, don’t send it over.”

And a reminder from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell himself: Pelosi’s leverage over Senate trial is “nonexistent.”

McConnell: …There will be no haggling with the House over Senate procedure. We will not cede our authority to try this impeachment. The House Democrats’ turn is over. The Senate has made its decision. The 1999 precedent does not guarantee witnesses or foreclose witnesses. Let me say that again: It neither guarantees witnesses nor forecloses witnesses. It leaves those determinations until later in the trial, where they belong. I fully expect the parties will raise questions of witnesses at the appropriate time. And I would remind my friends on the other side, I strongly suspect that not all the potential witnesses would be people the Democrats are eager to hear from. So the Senate will address all these questions at the appropriate time, and that is for the Senate and the Senate only to decide, period.

Stop The Madness. Not only did Pelosi oversee the first strictly partisan impeachment, her party is now fracturing because she overplayed her hand.
