Kaleb Vanfosson, president of the Iowa State University’s Young Democratic Socialists club, was set to deliver the warm up speech for presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton.
The pro-Clinton rally, featuring Bernie Sanders, was held at the college in Ames, and Clinton/Kaine campaign signs were set up throughout the crowd as Vanfosson approached the microphone.
But a funny thing happened on the way to the podium …
During a rally for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Saturday, a college student who was given a speaking slot was quickly escorted off stage after he used his speech to criticize the candidate.
… he quickly segued into a condemnation of Clinton and how awful she is.
Vanfosson complained that the only people that can trust Clinton are Goldman Sachs, billionaires, the military industrial complex and the rest of the elites. “She has completely lost grip of what it’s like to be an average person,” the college student explained.
To be sure, Vanfosson is no fan of Donald Trump, referring to him as a “part-time reality TV star and full-time bigot.” But his vitriol was most apparent for Hillary, clearly a ‘Feel the Bern’ extremist who is none-to-pleased that his candidate lost in a rigged primary.
Clearly, Vanfosson wasn’t the only one who wasn’t a big fan of Hillary in the room.
After saying “The only people who can really trust Hillary are Goldman Sachs, Citigroup … the military industrial complex can trust Hillary, her good friend Henry Kissinger can trust Hillary,” a smattering of applause could be heard in the crowd.
Within a minute or so, either a campaign staffer, Bernie aide, or college employee rushed the student off stage.
It seems a rather obvious metaphor for what the Clinton campaign tends to do when it comes to dissenting opinions – they shut them down, by force.
