House Minority Speaker Nancy Pelosi did her best Chicken Little impersonation in a guest appearance with Bill Maher, saying “civilization as we know it would be in jeopardy” if the Republicans took back the Senate in November. Pelosi made the comments during a live segment on Real Time With Bill Maher.

If you needed any further confirmation of Pelosi being a certifiable nut, she actually claimed the Democrats are “not fear-mongers” right after saying the world will end.

Via The Daily Caller:

Maher asked Pelosi about recent polling which shows that the GOP is likely to take over the upper chamber and asked, given gridlock in Washington, why it matters that Democrats keep control.

“It would be very important for the Democrats to retain control of the Senate,” Pelosi told Maher. “Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if the Republicans win the Senate.”

Watch the interview…

The best part about the interview is that roughly two minutes after saying the world would end if Republicans won the Senate, Pelosi went on to say “Fear is a motivator, and we are not fear-mongers.”

Pelosi would add, “The Democrats are messengers of hope, and that’s what we will continue to be.”

Nothing quite sounds like a message of hope, than claiming the world will end as we know it if our political opponents succeed.
