A pair of pastors responded to claims made by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that she’s being truthful about conditions at border detention facilities, insisting she isn’t.
One of the pastors, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, who paid his own visit to the same exact facility, already claimed the New York Democrat Representative was woefully misinformed on the matter.
“To my surprise, I saw something drastically different from the stories I’ve been hearing in our national discourse,” Rodriguez reported. “We found no soiled diapers, no deplorable conditions and no lack of basic necessities.”
“Even as a veteran of immigration advocacy in the U.S.,” he added according to a Fox News report. “I was shocked at the misinformation of the crisis at the border.”
Ocasio-Cortez responded by stomping her feet and complaining on Twitter that “the right” is “saying I’m lying.”
No dear, reality is saying you’re lying.
The right is responding to what’s been exposed at the border by denying it & saying I’m lying.
Hard to assert when the details I shared are corroborated by other members of Congress, court documents, migrant testimony, and now photos released today by the Inspector General. https://t.co/1JR8oSkk9X

Actually, it’s pretty easy to assert.
The members of Congress are fellow Democrats who support open borders. The ‘migrant testimony’ is from agenda-driven doctors who interviewed and coached children with a significant language barrier. And the Inspector General photos show little more than over-crowding, which is a product of decades of Democrat inaction on securing our border.
Rodriguez responded to the ‘testimony’ in an interview on Fox News, noting that the information being disseminated by politically motivated liberals involves reports “anecdotally to interviews with children, with children mind you, from the age of 2 to the age of 17.”
Ocasio-Cortez is Lying
The Hispanic pastor, who has no agenda as an adviser to President Trump and former presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama on immigration reform, excoriated Ocasio-Cortez insistence that her stories – involving women drinking from toilets and border agents sexually threatening her – are real.
“I must be living in a parallel universe somewhere … I did not find soiled diapers. I did not find crying children. I did not find deplorable conditions,” Rodriguez said. “Quite the opposite. I found amazing people on both sides trying to make a very difficult circumstance better. I don’t know where everyone else is visiting!”
He added that the Democrat contingent inspecting the facility “never visited what I visited” and noted that a “vast majority” of border patrol agents “are Latino and many attended churches.”
Kevin Wallace, pastor of Redemption to the Nations Church, also toured the facility with Rodriguez and quipped that Ocasio-Cortez’ claims are “totally absurd.”
“The congresswoman is entitled to her opinion, but her opinion should never shape the truth,” Wallace said during an interview on Fox & Friends. “The truth doesn’t have a side. The truth stands on its own and people with integrity have got to make up their mind to stand on the side of truth, and the facts that we saw were there.”
Truth is not something this congresswoman is interested in. She is, after all, the same person who declared facts don’t matter as long as you are morally right.
