Trying to score political points in the middle of a public health crisis, the Biden campaign has repeatedly pushed the “misleading” claim that the Trump Administration dissolved an anti-pandemic office on the National Security Council.

This misinformation has earned a fact check from the Washington Post and FactCheck.org, as well as pushback from numerous former NSC officials who have said it’s simply not true.

Joe Biden’s record on handling pandemics is one of incompetence. Here are three things you won’t hear him explain in his reckless “shadow briefings”:

Is Trump going to win in 2020?

  • The Obama-Biden Administration scrapped the White House Health and Security Office in 2009, the same year the H1N1 swine flu pandemic swept across the United States.
    • There was no dedicated anti-pandemic unit at the NSC until one was created in the final months of the Obama-Biden Administration.
  • The Obama-Biden Administration failed to replenish the federal stockpile of N95 respirator masks after the swine flu pandemic, despite recommendations that it do so. The shortage America is experiencing today is a direct result of the Obama-Biden Administration’s failure to prepare the country.
  • During the 2009 swine flu outbreak, Biden made reckless comments unsupported by science and public health experts. The Obama Administration had to clean up his mess and apologize for Biden’s ineptitude.
