NY Democrat Sues Ocasio-Cortez For Blocking Him on Twitter

Former Democratic New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind, citing precedent with a recent ruling against President Trump, filed a lawsuit against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for blocking him on Twitter.

A federal appeals court ruled Tuesday that the President is not allowed to block people on the social media platform because his account amounts to a “public forum” and is protected by free speech under the First Amendment.

The ruling, rather predictably, opens up the floodgates for any government official to be prohibited from blocking users whatever the reason may be.

In a statement announcing his lawsuit against Ocasio-Cortez, Hikind said he was blocked by the Congresswoman “apparently because my critique of her tweets and policies have been too stinging.”

“Ocasio-Cortez is acting cowardly and should be ashamed of her attempts to silence me,” Hikind railed. “I’ve done nothing but address her ignorance and disregard for the truth.”

Welcome to the party, pal.

“She constantly brags about the millions of followers she has but is afraid of my speech. She is a hypocrite,” he concluded.

The fact-deficient socialist was recently called out by One America News host, Liz Wheeler, for blocking her on Twitter.

What Happened Next?

As Fox News reported on Hikind’s lawsuit, Republican congressional candidate Joseph Saladino announced that he was suing Ocasio-Cortez as well.

“I have officially filed my lawsuit against AOC for blocking me on twitter,” Saladino declared. “Trump is not allowed to block people, will the standards apply equally? Stay tuned to find out!”

Another journalist named Harry Cherry was blocked following the Fox News report on Hikind’s lawsuit.

Cherry stated he had called Ocasio-Cortez a “moron” following her remarks comparing border facilities to concentration camps. Which, of course, is accurate.

Hikind v. Anti-Semites

Hikind, considered a moderate Democrat in New York, has been a thorn in the side of radical anti-Semites in Congress such as Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.

He demanded an investigation of Women’s March founder Linda Sarsour after reports surfaced that she had covered up the sexual assault of women during her time as executive director of the Arab American Association.

He has frequently slammed Omar for a pattern of making Anti-Semitic comments repeatedly on social media.

“It’s ‘Antisemitic Weekends with Omar,'” Hikind wrote after the congresswoman complained of having to support our ally in Israel. “On this week’s episode, she’ll talk about Jewish power, money and dual loyalty!”

Hikind also encouraged others who have been blocked by Ocasio-Cortez to contact him, perhaps signaling preparation for a class action suit.
