NFL Players File Grievance Over National Anthem Policy – ‘Infringes On Our Rights’

Kneeling football players have been a problem for the NFL in the ratings and financial departments, but that isn’t stopping players making millions from fighting for the supposed ‘right’ to continue disrespecting our military, our flag, and our nation.

The NFL Players Association has actually filed a grievance against the league for implementing a policy which states any players on the field will have to stand while the National Anthem is playing.

Those same players are given the option to remain in the locker room should they wish to continue their silent social justice protest.

It was a fairly balanced solution.

But the players don’t seem to think so, filing a grievance which says being asked to stand for the National Anthem “is inconsistent with the collective bargaining agreement and infringes on player rights.”

What an absolute joke!

The players aren’t content with watching the league’s ratings plummet, killing the game off slowly, and costing everyone involved millions. Now they’re actually actively fighting for the right to spit on those who fought and died for their ‘rights.’

Problem is, this isn’t a right. The NFL, as an employer, has every right to set forth rules of conduct while players are on the field. The players, conversely, have every right to protest by any means they see fit on their own time, because this is America.

Should the union win this grievance, it essentially amounts to employers under no circumstances being able to implement rules and a code of conduct in the workplace.

It is, exactly as Houston Texans owner Bob McNair once said (or tied to say before bumbling the expression), the ‘inmates attempting to run the asylum.’

“NFL players have shown their patriotism through their social activism, their community service, in support of our military and law enforcement and yes, through their protests to raise awareness about the issues they care about,” the Players Association said in a statement in May.

All things they can continue to freely do outside of game time.

President Trump, long a thorn in the side of these disrespectful players, said the new anthem policy was a step in the right direction, but added that those staying in the locker rooms should maybe move to another country.

“I think that’s good, I don’t think people should be staying in locker rooms,” he said. “You have to stand proudly for the national anthem or you shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there — maybe you shouldn’t be in the country.”

It’ll be interesting to see what develops with this grievance as the season is set to begin in less than two months.
