In a stunning development, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly offered Democratic lobbyist Tony Podesta immunity in exchange for testimony against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

Podesta is the brother of Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta, and had been the subject of a criminal inquiry for possible violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act. His firm worked on a public relations campaign organized by Manafort that promoted Ukraine’s image in the West. The campaign was called the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine and was backed by a pro-Russia party.

Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson revealed that two sources had confirmed to the network that Podesta was cut a deal.

“Tonight we can report exclusively based on two separate sources we spoke to today that Tony Podesta has been offered immunity by Robert Mueller to testify against Paul Manafort,” Carlson reported.

Carlson further explained why immunity for Podesta demonstrates a cut and dry demonstration of Mueller’s witch hunt against President Trump and anyone associated with him.

“In other words, for a near identical crime, Bill and Hillary’s friend could escape and emerge completely unscathed while Paul Manafort may rot in jail,” the host explained. “Only one of them made the mistake of chairing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.”

Podesta is one in a long line of Clinton associates to be granted immunity from their crimes while others are charged for the very same transgressions.

Cheryl Mille, former Hillary Clinton Chief of Staff, along with two other aides, was granted immunity in exchange for their cooperation in the investigation of the former Democrat presidential candidate’s private email server.

Clinton’s former IT aide, Brian Pagliano, the man who set up that private serve, was given immunity. As were Heather Samuelson, a senior Hillary Clinton adviser, John Bentel, director of the State Department’s Office of Information Resources Management, and Paul Combetta, the computer specialist who was caught asking Reddit users how to “strip out a VIP’s (VERY VIP) email address from a bunch of archived emails.”

Now, Podesta is given special treatment in an attempt to destroy Manafort. Incredible!

Former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino was enraged at the news that Mueller offered Podesta immunity, calling the probe a “disgusting abomination.”

Podesta stepped down from the firm that bears his name in October when it became clear he was the subject of Mueller’s investigation.

Judicial Watch, a government watchdog group, filed an FOIA lawsuit and obtained numerous emails showing the Podesta group’s work on behalf of the pro-Russia Ukrainian campaign.

“Like Paul Manafort, who is currently under indictment in the errant special counsel Russia investigation, the Podesta Group had to retroactively file Foreign Agent Registration Act disclosures with the Justice Department for Ukrainian-related work,” Judicial Watch reported at the time.

Judical Watch president Tom Fitton said, “By the standards of the Mueller special counsel operation, these emails alone would have been enough for the Podestas to have been hauled before a grand jury or worse.”

“These emails are a stark reminder that the Mueller’s special counsel operation seems more interested in the alleged foreign ties of the Trump team, rather than Hillary Clinton’s (and Barack Obama’s) associates.”

“Both Manafort and the Podesta Group had to file foreign agent registration act forms disclosing their lobbying activities for groups like the party of the regions and some other fronts associated with Ukraine,” he added. “Only Manafort was indicted for not filing those forms properly and on time when he should have.”

We now know that’s because Podesta received immunity while Manafort sits in solitary confinement in a prison cell.
