A photo showing a crying child became a viral sensation for media outlets spreading lies about President Trump’s illegal immigration policies, even being featured and photoshopped alongside a towering image of the President for a Time Magazine cover.
As per usual, the story behind the image doesn’t match the lies being peddled by an anti-American, open-borders media.
The little girl, it turns out, was never at any point separated from her mother. How do we know? The father revealed the truth.
The little two-year-old was captured by a Getty photographer as she cried at a facility in Texas, while Border Control agents searched her mother. The mother, it turns out, essentially kidnapped the child from her family to bring her into the United States.
It took no time at all for the media to spread the photo far and wide. CNN declared, “The crying girl is quickly becoming the human face of President Donald Trump’s new ‘zero-tolerance’ immigration policy, which has resulted in separations of undocumented parents and kids.”

Time Magazine even created a cover that photoshopped the girl alongside a menacing image of a much taller President Trump.
“Welcome to America,” it is captioned.
The intention was clear – Trump made this girl cry by taking her Mommy away.

In reality though, that isn’t the case.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, the father of the little girl reports that his daughter was never separated from her mother.
“Denis said his wife and daughter were never separated by border control agents and remain together,” the report reads.
YOU’RE TELLING ME THAT THE CRYING GIRL ON THE COVER OF TIME MAGAZINE WAS NEVER ACTUALLY SEPARATED FROM HER MOTHER?
DID YOU EVEN BOTHER TO CHECK BEFORE YOU PUT THE IMAGE UP ON THE COVER WITH WELCOME TO AMERICA? YOU’RE JUST GIVING TRUMP MORE AMMO ABOUT THE ‘FAKE NEWS MEDIA!’ pic.twitter.com/gzYFxWLbMj

In fact, as is the point in these cases, the mother put her own child in danger by bringing her into the U.S against the father’s wishes, leaving he and three other children behind.
That’s not a good parent.
“I don’t have any resentment for my wife,” the girls’ father said, “but I do think it was irresponsible of her to take the baby with her in her arms because we don’t know what could happen.”
Father of the now famous photo of the little girl crying says his wife/child were never separated at any time by authorities, that his wife was seeking a job (not fleeing violence), and that he is upset w/ her for taking his child on the dangerous journey https://t.co/owZH204b2A pic.twitter.com/ruZt263tDu

It doesn’t matter to the media that the adults entering illegally are the problem for putting children in danger. It doesn’t matter that the girl was portrayed as the face of the family separation crisis even though she wasn’t separated. And it doesn’t matter that the image, while real in what it captured, is fake without proper context and facts.
Time Magazine got its viral image and the President will forever be portrayed, using that cover, as a monster. Facts be damned.
