Military Dad Surprises His Family by Returning Home Early for the Holidays

We don’t know about you, but these ‘soldiers surprising their families by returning home videos’ simply never get old.

And we’ve got a good one for you today.

Sergeant Robert Vandenberg Jr., surprised his wife and two children – one whom he’s never seen before – by showing up at an Anaheim Ducks hockey game they were attending.

The organization promised fans a special treat during intermission, in which the family would be able to Skype with Vandenberg from Romania on the Jumbo tron. When “technical difficulties” surfaced, the announcer explained to fans “we had a feeling we might have technical difficulties connecting to Romania, so we took the liberty to fly Sergeant Vandenberg home a bit early for the holidays.”

What happens next is priceless, as the returning soldier greets his wife Patricia and his 17-month old son Robert, then holds his newborn Travis for the very first time.
