In an unguarded moment during a promotional tour for her memoir, Becoming, Michelle Obama chastized a feminist technique to balance work and family life by saying “that s*** doesn’t work all the time.”

Obama had been referencing a self-help technique for women to climb the corporate ladder while simultaneously balancing their marriage and raising children, known as ‘leaning in.’

The concept was popularized by Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg who authored a book titled, Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead.

“That whole ‘so you can have it all,'” concept, Obama lamented. “Nope, not at the same time.”

Shortly thereafter, Obama seemingly forgot her surroundings and moved into straight-talk territory.

“That’s a lie. And it’s not always enough to lean in, because that s*** doesn’t work all the time,” she announced to a slightly startled crowd.

The former First Lady apologized almost immediately saying “I forgot where I was for a moment!”

The media, who made it clear that use of such profanity when President Trump does so is a sign of having little to no class, instead viewed Obama’s slip up as a “cute moment.”

The crowd meanwhile laughed and applauded Mrs. Obama’s candor.

“I thought we were at home, y’all,” she added. “I was gettin’ real comfortable up in here. Alright, I’m back now. Sometimes that stuff doesn’t work.”

The former First Lady also later mentioned how careful she and Barack had been in how they spoke because of the children who might hear them.

“That’s why Barack and I are careful about what we say,” the former first lady said. “Except when we are in an arena full of people.”

As for marriage, she doesn’t think men and women can have equal roles in work and life.

Fox News reports that Obama added this point of emphasis regarding differing roles of for men and women: “Marriage still ain’t equal, y’all.”

What Exactly Doesn’t Work?

To be clear, what Sandberg is advocating for in her ‘lean in’ mantra is nothing more than the ability to achieve things in a woman’s career while being a successful wife and mother as well.

A description of the book on Amazon explains that Sandberg “describes specific steps women can take to combine professional achievement with personal fulfillment, and demonstrates how men can benefit by supporting women both in the workplace and at home.”

“(Sandberg) insists that increased numbers of women in leadership roles will help the status and opportunities of all women,” Forbes wrote in reviewing the book. “She wants women to talk about getting ahead and what it means to seek leadership roles.”

Yea, why would anyone support the concept of a good and balanced work and home life? Seems Michelle doesn’t believe women are capable of doing both.

She’s essentially arguing that being a good mother and a successful woman are separate and simultaneously unattainable goals, which is a concept opposite of what a strong feminist should support.

Ironically, Amazon lists Obama’s book as a good companion to Sandberg’s lean in ‘s***.’

Michelle Has Been Extra Trashy With This Book

While cursing makes us take a step back in surprise, Obama has been incredibly un-First Lady-like with this book and the subsequent promotional tour.

  • She trashed the President as bigoted, xenophobic, racist, saying she would never forgive him for the birther conspiracy Hillary Clinton’s campaign started.
  • She whined about America’s current First Lady not seeking her out for advice on some of the White House s***.
  • She also revealed that she was a sobbing mess after Trump’s inauguration.

What happened to the good old days when First Lady’s retired and maintained a level of decorum for the title they once held? Can you imagine had Melania said something about feminist techniques not working and swearing about them in the process? Would the media cover her favorably, calling it a ‘cute moment’ or would they bully her?
