Michelle Obama believes her husband, Barack Obama, could have located his presidential library anywhere because so many people “feel like he is their president.”
The Obama library is currently planned for development in Jackson Park on the South Side of Chicago, near the University of Chicago campus, at an estimated cost of $500 million.
Speaking at the Obama Foundation Summit at the Illinois Institute of Technology, the former First Lady explained that the location was selected because it is close to her childhood home, as well as the couple’s old home.
“There’s power in the selection of Jackson Park,” Mrs. Obama explained. “Barack and I don’t do things incidentally. There’s a strategy.”
The strategy usually includes spending an exorbitant amount of money, claiming you’re going to create jobs, then watching the whole facade collapse. But we digress.
“Barack’s presidential library could have been anywhere in the world,” Michelle claimed, “because there are so many people who feel like he is their president.”
“New York wanted it. Hawaii wants it. Because it’s also an economic engine,” she boasted.
It’s good to see the narcissism hasn’t eluded either Obama since they’ve left office.

First, the fact that she points out that people around the world think Obama is their president is the reason you have the real President in Donald Trump today. Because America wanted someone who represents their best interests. Not somebody who placates the entire world.
Second, her comments are strikingly similar to when she claimed the mantle of America’s “forever First Lady.”
Speaking at an event at Temple University in Philadelphia Last May, Michelle Obama made the claim that should haunt every American’s nightmares.
“We have such high hopes for you. See, I am not one of those doubters. I know that you have everything it takes to succeed,” Obama said to students attending signing day at the University.
“I know you are me, and if I can be standing here as your forever First Lady, then you can do anything you put your mind to.”

Meanwhile, at the same summit in Chicago, Obama accused white people of fleeing neighborhoods when minorities or immigrants move in.
“I want to remind white folks that y’all were running from us,” she accused. “And you’re still running. “Because we’re no different from the immigrant families that are moving in today.”
The former First Lady then launched into a diatribe in which she lamented that she can’t figure out what to do to make white people less afraid of the black community.
“I can’t make people not afraid of black people,” she groused. “I don’t know what’s going on.”
“I can’t explain what’s happening in your head.”
Relateable content. The same could be said for someone who also believes Barack is so beloved that people to this day still think he’s their President.
