Maxine Waters: “Over 170 Million Jobs Could Be Lost” Due to Sequester, Only 135 Million Currently Working In U.S.

Math.  Is.  Hard.

Despite there only being roughly 135 million people currently working in the United States (h/t Weasel Zippers), California Congresswoman Maxine Waters believes that cuts implemented due to sequestration will be so staggering, that they will result in over 170 million job losses.  That is a 126% job loss in the U.S. employment market, a staggering number.

It’s also about as a realistic as a magical land of lollipops and unicorns.

Via the American Thinker:

Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) claimed today that “over 170 million jobs” could be lost due to sequestration, which she also wants blamed on Republicans.

This number is greater than the total number of jobs in America, so it seems highly unlikely.

Here’s the video:

I’ll say it again.

Math. Is. Hard.

Especially when you’re trying to scare the American people over a tactic that your boss implemented.
