Sometimes, all it takes is a single picture to put everything into perspective.
Perhaps that’s what NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick needs right now – a little perspective.
As you’ve most certainly probably heard already, Kaepernick boycotted the national anthem during Friday’s game against the Green Bay Packers because he refuses “to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”
He added, “There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder,” an apparent shot at men and women in police uniform.
Kaepernick was almost immediately put in place by an image that quickly went viral on social media.
Kaepernick refusing to stand for natl anthem is his right. Here's a Marine, who can't stand, because he defended it pic.twitter.com/mLjTUPQ2pm

The Marine pictured above is veteran Zachary Stinson, a Marine Sergeant who lost both of his legs above the knee due to an IED explosion while serving in Afghanistan in 2010.
Yet, here he is standing as tall as can be for the national anthem for the greatest country on Earth.
Another popular meme that has cropped up since the Kaepernick flap involves another, lesser-known 49ers football player.
Via Young Cons:
… unless you’re a diehard football fan, the name Glen Coffee probably doesn’t ring a bell.
Coffee was drafted in the third round by the niners back in 2009 after a successful collegiate career at Alabama.
He played only one year with San Francisco before God took him down another path, and he decided to enlist in the U.S. Army. Granted, Coffee was struggling to make the team in his second season before deciding to enlist, but that’s really a moot point.
As of 2015, Coffee is a paratrooper at the Ranger School and works for the 6th Ranger Training Battalion.
