Hillary Holds ‘Just For Women’ Event, Can’t Find Enough Women To Attend

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton hosted a “just for women” meeting featuring the ex-wife of former Governor Eliot Spitzer, which saw very poor attendance numbers that may signal a decline in interest for the scandal-ridden Democrat.

In fact, sign-ups were so low that they had to extend the deadline for ticket purchases.  Worse, they had to start admitting men at the last minute because her campaign couldn’t find enough female takers.

The original goal was to attract 125 women.

Via the New York Post:

Hillary Clinton had trouble attracting high-powered women to a New York talk hosted by Silda Wall Spitzer two weeks before her campaign officially kicks off. Sources said that after ticket sales fizzled for an intimate, $2,700-per-person, “just for women” meeting on Monday, the event was thrown open to men at the 11th hour, and the deadline extended to buy tickets.

The “Conversation With Hillary Clinton” event at Midtown law firm Akin Gump was originally aiming to attract 125 women. An email invitation seen by Page Six said the event is “just for women.” But by Friday, “They’d only sold 50 tickets, so they threw it open to men,” a source said. “Ticket sales were supposed to close at 10 a.m. Sunday, but the hostesses were working the phones and pushed the deadline till Monday.”

Being the ever-helpful source of information that we are here at the Mental Recession, we decided to analyze what might have been the problem with Hillary’s fundraiser.

As a Senator here in New York, Clinton paid her female staffers 72 cents per every dollar that men made.

If she were charging $2,700 per-ticket for the “just for women” event, perhaps she should have used that same 72 cents/per formula to only charge women willing to attend $1,944.

Boom, problem solved.  No war on women.

In the meantime, this would be national news if a Republican, including a female Republican such as Carly Fiorina or Sarah Palin, could not attract enough women to their event.
