Governor Who Said Conservatives Have No Place In NY, Shilling ‘Everyone Is Welcome’ Buttons

Johnny Hypocrisy is back at it again today.

Just days after issuing a travel ban to the state of Indiana over their religious freedom law over, Governor Cuomo is now shilling free ‘NY – Where everyone is welcome’ pins on Facebook.

Equality is our priority here in New York – and we are proud to show it. We here at the New York Democratic are proud to support LGBT equality.

The exercise of religious freedom is not a justification for discrimination based upon sex, sexual orientation or gender identity, or other protected classes. Period.

Everyone is welcome in New York. Show your support by signing up and we will send you an “Everyone is Welcome” button that you can wear with pride.

While Cuomo is busy bashing Indiana for their alleged rights violations, his administration continues to plan a trip to Cuba to establish trade negotiations.  Because as we know, Cuba is what’s considered a human rights nirvana.  Well, except for their constitutional ban against same-sex marriage, their lack of anti-discrimination laws regarding the provisions of goods and services, and their nonexistent anti-discrimination laws regarding hate speech against particular groups.

If that wasn’t enough hypocrisy for you, Cuomo’s little LGBT buttons have to make conservative readers of this blog laugh.  Out loud.

It was just last January that Cuomo said no, not everyone is welcome in New York state.  The governor stated that Second Amendment supporters, believers in traditional marriage, and those who are pro-life “have no place in the state of New York.”

Despite Cuomo’s pandering, it should be noted that the Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act is modeled after a bill that his buddy Chuck Schumer sponsored in 1993, and another bill that Democrats pushed hard for in 2007 under the sponsorship of now-indicted Sheldon Silver.

Never mind facts though – they’re giving out free buttons!!!
