A pair of new polls show a very hopeful nation as Donald Trump is set to take office, signs that people believe the President-elect will pull America out of the doldrums of the Obama administration.
First off, one poll shows that while liberals want you to believe the Trump presidency will mark the end times, a vast majority of Americans are ‘hopeful’ heading into 2017. A staggering 72% said they were hopeful about the coming year, while others described their feelings as optimistic or excited.
Via the Hill:
Nearly three-quarters of Americans, or 72 percent of those polled, say they are feeling hopeful about 2017, according to a new Morning Consult survey.
Sixty-one percent of respondents say they are feeling optimistic about the upcoming year, and 51 percent of people are feeling excited.
But half of the respondents say they are feeling anxious about the coming year, according to the poll.
Twenty-three percent reported feeling sad and 19 percent reported feeling angry going into the new year.
The positive feelings are far outweighing the negative, as America prepares to close the door on the Obama presidency and welcome the Trump presidency with open arms.
A second poll indicates consumer confidence has grown to levels not seen in 15 years. Even the New York Times was forced to admit that these record numbers are due to confidence and hope vested in Trump himself.
Via The Times:
A measure of consumer confidence shot to its highest level in more than 15 years in December as Americans saw more strength ahead in business conditions, stock prices and the job market following the election of Donald J. Trump as president.
A separate report showed that house prices continued their steady recovery in October, although a spike in borrowing costs after Election Day could present a headwind to sustained home value gains.
The Conference Board said Tuesday that its Consumer Confidence Index rose to 113.7 this month from an upwardly revised 109.4 in November. That topped estimates in a Reuters poll for a reading of 109.0, and was the highest since August 2001.
Perhaps it’s all that winning Trump has been doing before even setting foot in the White House that has Americans so giddy.
He has announced the Carrier deal saving hundreds of jobs from moving to Mexico, the Boeing deal which saved taxpayer money, and a freshly announced pair of deals with Sprint and OneWeb that will save thousands more jobs for America.
Trump isn’t even President yet, and he’s already making America great – and hopeful – again.
