FLASHBACK: “The View” Called Joe Biden Irresponsible For Botching Swine Flu Response

During the swine flu outbreak in 2009, Joe Biden nearly caused a public panic with reckless, irresponsible comments that were not supported by science or public health experts. A Democrat Senator bemoaned the fact that Biden spread “misinformation” on national TV.

To prevent a public panic and stock market slide, the Obama White House had rush to clean up the mess Biden made and publicly apologize for his incompetence:

Do you support Joe Biden as president?

With Joe Biden appearing on “The View” today, it’s a good time to look back on what the hosts of the show had to say about Biden’s blunders almost 11 years ago to the day:

  • Barbara Walters: “I felt this was somewhat irresponsible…”
  • Joy Behar: “Joe Biden doesn’t remember he’s the Vice President sometimes. He thinks he’s playing card games with his friends in Atlantic City. I mean, I like the guy but I think that he doesn’t realize that he is number two…”
  • Elisabeth Hasselbeck: “Well, he should realize that. I mean, we’ve seen him forget things before, like that café he thought was open, Selma’s or whatever it was, that he thought he went back to during the election. We’ve seen him make these mistakes again and again.”
