Best-selling author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza is set to headline a conference that will address Big Tech censorship and what conservatives can do to fight back.

The event, scheduled for mid-September, will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, and is titled ‘Censored: How Big Tech Is Destroying Free Speech And What We Must Do To Stop It.

The battle against censorship in Silicon Valley is heating up, as prominent voices and provocateurs on social media are being banned from top platforms outright, or have had their work demonetized.

The assault on free speech has been particularly devastating for conservative voices on major sites such as YouTube (Steven Crowder very recently was demonetized), Facebook and Twitter.

Our Own Fight Against Censorship

Readers of the Mental Recession know all-too-well this site had our Facebook page unpublished under the false guise that A) Our administrator wasn’t a real person and B) We violated community standards that are ill-defined at best, or worse, not defined at all.

Twitter and Facebook have used the ‘community standards’ premise to block free speech without having to define why they are taking such actions.

So how do conservatives fight back, especially when this assault on free speech could have a marked impact on the 2020 election? That’s what this conference is for – conservatives need a battle plan.

“Rather than debate issues publicly or agree the first amendment applies to all, they [social media companies] hide behind their keyboard and push a few buttons to shut down facebook pages, twitter accounts, Paypal accounts, the list goes on,” event organizers write.

“To be a conservative now in parts of this country is to be an outcast. Be a patriot and love your country, and you’ll be called a Nazi – a term used so loosely, it’s an insult to the millions who were slaughtered in the Holocaust.”

Warning to President Trump

Event organizers have issued a warning as well for the conservative movement – the left’s control over Big Tech companies, Hollywood, and most mainstream media outlets will have a major effect on the nation, as well as President Trump’s chances of being re-elected.

“Republicans may control the White House and Senate (for now), but the progressive left controls the media, colleges, Hollywood and Silicon Valley and they are effectively and radically changing the future of this country,” the site reads.

The highly-anticipated event will feature other esteemed conservative speakers as well, including writer Gary DeMar, political columnist Doug Giles, and author Dr. Gina Loudon.
