House Democrat Earl Blumenauer suggested an alteration to the 25th Amendment of the Constitution is in order, changing it to possibly provide for impeachment of a President who is deemed ‘unstable.’
The obvious assertion here is that President Trump is mentally unfit to serve as leader of the United States, an appalling, shameful allegation for someone you disagree with politically, but a narrative most Democrats seem to agree with.
Alleging Trump is too mentally unstable to serve as President is beneath the dignity of any public servant, and anyone from Blumenauer, to Al Franken, to Maxine Waters should be admonished for making such a suggestion.
I'm starting the process of fixing fatal flaw in the 25th amdt, in the case of a President who is unstable: https://t.co/dqt7iqzxH2

Via Fox News Insider:
A House Democrat is calling for Congress to review the 25th Amendment of the Constitution, suggesting President Donald Trump is mentally “unstable.”
Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), who has represented a Portland district for 20 years, wrote in an op-ed that the 50-year-old amendment contains a “fatal flaw” that must be addressed.
The 25th Amendment relates to the procedures for removing a president or vice president “in the event of death, removal, resignation, or incapacitation.”
Blumenauer cautioned that the amendment – ratified after the JFK assassination – would “fail” in the case of a president who is “mentally unstable, paranoid or delusional.”
Speaking on the House floor, the Democrat cited numerous alleged examples of the President’s “erratic behavior,” including exaggeration of his inaugural crowd size and description of the weather that day.
That’s certainly rock solid evidence.
We’re wondering if any review of the 25th Amendment would include such ‘unstable’ behavior as claiming ISIS is contained the day before a major terrorist attack in Paris, or dancing the tango while Brussells suffered a terrorist attack, or turning into a stuttering mess.
Naturally, Blumenauer didn’t use Obama as an example, but he did take a swipe at Republican presidential icon Ronald Reagan’s Alzheimer’s Disease.
“Staff in the Reagan White House considered whether to invoke these provisions,” he wrote, “expressing concerns with the President’s mental capability – perhaps recognizing the early symptoms of Alzheimer’s.”
What a disgusting attack on Reagan and Trump!
But hey, at least he’s not calling for a military coup, like a former Obama Pentagon official did in a prestigious defense journal.
