Caravan Migrant on Why He’s Traveling to US: Biden ‘Is Going to Help All of Us’

A Honduran migrant traveling in a caravan of thousands to the United States said he is making the journey because President-elect Biden “is going to help all of us.”

Speaking in an interview with The Hill, the man indicated he had traveled from the Honduran tourist island of Roatán.

A reporter asked the man what he was seeking for the crowd of migrants standing behind him.

To “get to the U.S. because they’re having a new president” was his response.

“He’s gonna help all of us,” the migrant claimed, referencing Biden. “He’s giving us 100 days to get to the U.S.’ to get legal status and ‘get a better life for our kids and family.”

Migrant Caravans Are Ready to ‘Test’ Biden

Last month, a Bloomberg News report indicated multiple migrant caravans were forming in Central America and are heading for the border as an “early test” for Biden and his promised efforts to abolish President Trump’s substantial immigration reforms.

“Biden has pledged to abolish many of the migration policies of Donald Trump, including prolonged detention and separation of families, which were designed to deter illegal migration,” Bloomberg writes.

The Honduran migrant in the above clip seems to specifically reference Biden’s pledge to act on providing a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens within his first 100 days in office.

“I’m going to make a commitment in the first 100 days, I will send an immigration bill to the United States Senate with a pathway to citizenship for over 11 million undocumented people in America,” Biden vowed during an NBC interview.

During the presidential campaign, Biden said that he would create a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens because “we owe them.”

“We made a mistake. It took too long to get it right,” Biden says when asked why voters should trust him to deliver on immigration reform after the Obama administration presided over record deportations and failed to deliver on this promise. #Debates2020

Biden’s Promises

The Daily Mail reports that “Guatemalan troops attempted to stop the caravan of an estimated eight thousand Honduran migrants from reaching the US” with the clash being marred by violence.

An official with the Biden transition team urged the Honduran migrant caravan to turn back … for now.

“There’s help on the way, but now is not the time to make the journey,” the official said.

Signals from Biden and his team have run contrary to the plea to not make the journey.

Biden announced in December that he intends to hire a “high-ranking” official at the DOJ whose sole job and focus will be to systematically undo President Trump’s immigration policies.

CNN reported prior to that he was poised to unleash “a flurry” of executive orders aimed at “undoing” the Trump administration’s efforts to reform key government agencies, including possible action on immigration.

Thomas Homan, the executive associate director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Obama-Biden administration, told Fox News it’s no surprise these migrants believe they have a friend in Joe.

“I said if Biden became president, this would happen,” Homan alleged. “The things he said, the promises that he made … When you throw those kinds of enticements out, who’s not going to come to the greatest country on Earth?”

Biden announced earlier this month that his actions on immigration will be immediate and added there would be a criminal investigation into the Trump administration’s family separation policies.

That means he is more concerned about jailing people who followed policies he and Barack Obama implemented than he is with allowing criminal illegals to roam the streets of America.
