Bret Baier Says ‘Stop There’ When Pelosi Blames Republicans For Delayed Relief Funds

Nancy Pelosi attempted to blame Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Republicans for holding up a bill funding the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), but was called out by Fox News anchor Bret Baier. pelosi delayed funds
The PPP, which was finally passed by the House on Thursday, provides an additional $310 billion in funding for the program.
“We’re very pleased that the Senate finally accepted the fact that we needed more money for testing, for hospitals, for lower – smaller businesses to participate in the Paycheck Protection Program,” Pelosi said. “It took them … a couple of weeks, but they finally did.”
“Mitch McConnell likes to say we delayed the bill. No, he delayed the bill,” the House Speaker provably lied.
Stop There
Baier, in an appearance on “The Five,” tore that argument to shreds.
“Let’s just set the record straight here,” he explained. “There was a clean bill that once they found out that the small business pot was going to be dry, there was a clean bill to put more money in it.”
“Nancy Pelosi did not go forward with that, period, the end, stop there,” explained Baier.
He went on to describe Nancy’s assertion as “political jujitsu,” which is really just a polite way of saying she lied.
“Let’s set the record straight. Once Republicans found out the PPP was going to run dry, there was a clean bill to replenish it. Nancy Pelosi didn’t go for it. Period. So to say that the delay was Mitch McConnell’s fault is just political jiujitsu for Nancy Pelosi.” @FoxNews pic.twitter.com/YUwqxRTUsT

Video Evidence pelosi delayed funds
Pelosi’s comments are not only provable lies according to Bret Baier, but they’re also provable lies against her own words.
In an appearance on MSNBC last week, Pelosi celebrated “victory” in blocking emergency funding for the PPP and even congratulated her fellow Democrats for blocking it.

Baier went on to clarify that it was Pelosi’s stalling that helped fuel a massive rise in unemployment claims this week.
“You have to have somebody that pushes back and says, wait a second, in that time that there was a delay, there are X number of small businesses around the country that had to make the decision, ‘I have not gotten the money, so I have to let these people go,'” Baier said.
“So when the number goes up 4.4 million on unemployment, there is a reason that it goes up that way,” he concluded. “And that delay is part of it.”
If Pelosi wasn’t so busy stuffing gourmet ice cream into her luxury freezer, she might have known it would be pretty easy for people to fact check this obvious lie.
