Unreal – One of Bloomberg’s ‘Mayors Against Illegal Guns’ Arrested For Trying to Force Man to Have Sex With Him … at Gunpoint

One of the gun-grabbing members of Michael Bloomberg’s organization, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, recently found himself trying to lure a man into a sexual encounter through the liberal use of alcohol.  When the charm and alcohol didn’t do the trick, James ‘Jay’ Schiliro (R) decided to go a different route – firing a handgun into a wall in an attempt at intimidation.

The mayor who, as the title suggests, is against illegal guns, was forced to hand over his firearm collection, and has been charged with several crimes.

A member of the Michael Bloomberg-sponsored gun control organization “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” has been arrested and charged in connection with a handgun incident at his home.

James Schiliro, a.k.a. Jay Schiliro, the mayor of Marcus Hook, a small town in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, faces charges of official oppression, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, and furnishing a minor with alcohol. He surrendered to authorities on Thursday morning, and his attorney declared that “we intend to fight these charges.”

Schiliro, 38, allegedly ordered a local police officer to bring a 20-year-old male friend to his home, where the mayor plied him with alcohol, and made sexual advances which the man refused. Schiliro allegedly brandished several handguns and fired one of them into the floor in an apparent attempt to intimidate the young man, who reportedly was in fear of his life.

The mayor was freed on $50,000 bail and told to stay away from the alleged victim and give up his stash of firearms.

More details from the Philadelphia Inquirer:

When the man repeatedly refused, Schiliro, who as mayor controls the police department, started to pull out handguns, informed the man that he was “going to be a hostage,” fired a 9 mm bullet into the wall and said that he’d ordered police to stay away from the house, the report states.

And an article in the Daily Local News indicates the mayor tried to dump his firearm collection, selling eight weapons shortly after the incident.

According to the Examiner, Schiliro was one of 600 mayors who recently signed a letter asking the U.S. Senate to enact tougher gun laws.

You know, the kind that would keep a drunken mayor from demanding gay sex with a handgun.  Is that anywhere in President Obama’s executive orders?

          Not really. Atheists don’t care if you believe in god. What they care about is people using god as an excuse to possess weapons, ignore equal rights, etc. While I am not an atheist, I certainly see their point of view. Being able to see things from there side comes from actually knowing the Constitution instead of just reading pretty pictures shared on Facebook.

            The problem is that most Christians do not read the entire bible, nor do they understand it. Then they apply the same practice to the Constitution. They pick out the pieces that apply to THEIR moral code while ignoring the bits and pieces that do not fit THEIR lifestyle. I always love when Christians pull versus from the Old Testament meanwhile it also states that if your children disobey their parents they should be put to death, a woman must marry the man who raped her and submit to him sexually or if her husband is killed she must marry his brother, If you plant two opposing crops side by side or wear opposing fabrics you should be stoned and all non-virgin brides should be killed….. I don’t see many hardcore Christians taking the initiative to be the first one to thrust themselves onto the sword?!

          It’s not so much when you say you believe in God, which is fine, I believe in God, just don’t condemn the country on the basis that not everyone believes the same thing you do. This country isn’t screwed because not 100% of the population avidly attends church and feels guilty about everything they’ve ever done to please a God that for all intents and purposes hates everyone, nor is it screwed because not 100% of the population believes in a warm, cuddly, all-forgiving God.           The part you’re missing is that the only rights that can be “granted” are those that we allow the government to control in the first place. You are correct that “God” was not mentioned in the Constitution, however without the Declaration of Independence which was the basis for creating this country states;

          We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

          Now while this may not be legal founding document, it does show that this country was formed by people that believed in a “God” or Creator and apparently had values and morals well beyond what this country’s leaders have fallen to.

          You cannot deny the statistical proof that the decline of the country’s morals, safety, and overall quality has declined sharply as the fight to remove “God” from the country has increased.

          The basis of the Constitution was the philosophy of John Locke, which states that men have rights, and cede some of those rights to the government so that the government may use those delegated powers to prevent others from infringing on their rights. That is why the government’s powers are supposed to be limited and few. The more power a government has, the fewer rights remain for the individual.

          Emphasis on the Creator part. But that was just the Deceleration of Independence, Here is something from the Constitution,

          Article VII reads, “done in Convention … the Seventeenth Day of
          September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty
          seven and of the Independence of the United States of America.”

          Lord being capitalized as a proper noun. Oh and just for the record, where did the founding fathers get this crazy idea that they were not being treated fairly? Because they believed that the current King of England, King George was in violation of English Common Law. Which is founded on biblical principals. For the first hundred years of America, the supreme court declared that common law and christian law were upheld in court proceedings.

          The whole Constitution is based on Christian beliefs, and values, it may not mention anything in the Constitution itself because the founding fathers escaped religious persecution. That’s why they came to the Americas to start with, but you read up on their memoirs, and individual books, and speeches that they gave, and you see they didn’t mean for total exclusion of church and state.

          “…Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independance of the United States of America the Twelfth In witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names,”
          That is the last sentence in the Constitution of the US. Note the “Year of our Lord.” Slightly facetious, but in reality it is there.

          “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”

          First sentence in the Dec. of Ind. that mentions “Nature’s God”.

          “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

          Second mention of the “Creator.”

          And then the finale….

          Where the “Supreme Judge” and the “protection of divine Providence” is invoked.

          Our rights are, because we are. We exist therefore our rights exist. I believe that God gave us those rights, but even if you don’t believe that God exists, at least believe that your right to exist is in no way inferior to anyone else’s right to exist. Government does not give those rights, but are there to defend those rights.

          Actually our rights are not granted by the government. Our rights are the natural rights that every person is born with. The Constitution was not written to tell us what rights we have, it was written to restrain the government, delegate which powers go to which branch of the government, and to regulate the institutions of government power in the form of the people first, then the states, then the federal gov. The Bill of Rights was ratified not to grant us our rights, but to specify what our rights are, again to restrain the government from violating those rights. Every human has those rights weather or not their country has a document to show it. The Documents you speak of where not created by the government, they were created by the people. The Constitution created the government. Not the other way around.

          Our rights are “guaranteed” by the Constitution and Bill of Rights, not “granted” or “given” by any governmental document, law or decree.

          If you really want to get specific about the constitution and other important documents, while “God” is not said in the constitution, it does say “in the year of our Lord.” There are many specific things not mentioned in the constitution that are not there but are implied such as,The Electoral College, Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Speech and Press, Immigration, Impeachment means removal from office, Innocent until proven guilt, Judicial Review, Jury of Peers, Marriage, Martial Law, No taxation without representation,Number of Justices in the Supreme Court,Paper Money, Political Parties, Primary Elections, Qualifications for Judges, The right to privacy, The right to vote, The separation of church and state, The Separation of Powers Clause, and Slavery.

          While that may be the only instance of a “creator”, “god”, or “lord” in the constitution, it is mentioned by the framers in other documents. For example in the Declaration of Independence a total of three times. The most notable is “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights…”

          You then go on to state that, ” “god” given right an American has is granted by a government created legal document.” While im still trying to make since of what you were exactly trying to say, I think you mean that “God given rights were only created from government laws.” Would you prefer it if I used its other name, Natural rights? These rights did not come from a simple government law, they came from ideas from the enlightenment. Philosophers such as Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and Thomas Pain were all thinkers that people should be given unalienable rights that people should always be allowed to have. They believed that these natural or “God” given rights were among “Life, Libery, and property” Does that sound familiar? When Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence he wrote “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,
          that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights,
          that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” Thomas Jefferson originally had written that among these rights are “Life, Libery, and Property” Thomas Jefferson one of the founding fathers was Inspired by Thomas Locke.

          Next time, before you go spouting off your abundant knowledge of the Constitution and the history of America that you got from a History Channel special, know your shit.

        The Constitution doesn’t grant rights. The Constitution spells out the limitations on government, to establish that our natural rights (which we all have based simply on being human) cannot be taken away, and it spells out the responsibilities delegated by We the People to the government.

          No, the Constitution plainly says religion and political policy should be separate. That was the whole reason the English came here to found the colonies in the first place…to escape a nationalized religion that had grown tyrannical.             On Church and State… The Declaration of Independence clearly attributes the Rights of Man to God the Creator, namely LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. Regarding this plain statement, it is about State Religion (which could be Atheism, as in China and Soviet Russia)… The word “separate” is not there…. the phrase “Separation of church and state” is NOT there. The Bill of Rights intended to PROTECT people’s beliefs, by telling the STATE to stay out of making any particular belief the OFFICIAL ESTABLISHED BELIEF. This would include atheism, as well… given that it is a belief system. We are FREE to believe what we want. If a town wants to “support” a religion which is popular, and wants to put up a nativity scene, for example, that is NOT the establishment of a State Church… so that prohibition does NOT apply to such things. The 1st amendment says: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

          Common mistake. The phrase you’re referring to is in the Declaration of Independence that, while proving that those that formed this county believed in a Creator (note that they capitalized Creator), was not an official document in the creation of this country.

            After establishing the Nation, the newly formed States drafted the Articles of Confederation to form Government for the Nation. When it became evident that the Government formed by this document was ineffective, the Constitution was written to establish “a more perfect union.”
            Although generally not recognized, all preexisting laws that were not in opposition to the Constitution (including several sections of the Articles of Confederation) are still valid law. There is no official founding document that states that the Declaration of Independence is not an official founding document, and it says that it is (that was the whole point), so there is no valid basis for stating that this is not a legally-binding document (if you cite anything that our government says about that, indicating that it is not, remember that that is the document that allowed for US to have the Constitution).

        Prisons are mostly corporate entities, now; it’s in their best interests to keep prisoners alive, and returning once released, because they’re paid per head.     I think it’s the hypocrisy that gets me. The crime itself is bad enough but the fact that the man who is alledged to have done it and used a handgun is so dead set against the rest of us having firearms. The fact that he is a politician automatically means, in most cases, he feels he is above the law. The gun laws they pass will not apply to them as they feel an undue sense of priviledge from their elected position. I truely hope that the justice system, such as it is, works, and if the mayor is found guilty he gets the same thing you and I would get in the same situation…I doubt that will happen though
