If you thought liberals needed safe spaces and safety pins to deal with the election before, they’re really going to need them now.
Time Magazine just named their Person of the Year, and while Democrat groups were actively hoping for the award as a consolation prize for Hillary Clinton, the publication chose Donald Trump as the winner.
Meaning, Hillary came in second – the runner-up – behind Trump once again.
Time Magazine has named U.S. President-elect Donald Trump Person of the Year, citing the upheaval in American politics brought about by the election campaign and victory of the New York businessman.
“It’s hard to measure the scale of his disruption,” Time said in its announcement on Wednesday, noting Trump’s eclectic career as real estate magnate and reality television star before winning the highest office in the land.
“For those who believe this is all for the better, Trump’s victory represents a long-overdue rebuke to an entrenched and arrogant governing class,” it said.
The magazine said its short list included Trump’s rival in the 2016 presidential race, Democrat Hillary Clinton, as well as Turkish leader Tayyip Erdogan and singer Beyonce.
This is a rough depiction of approximately 50 million American liberals right now:
Emulating Election Day, Clinton had a large lead in the polls heading into the contest, but still couldn’t get across the finish line.
According to a Today Show poll within the last 24 hours, Clinton led as the voters choice for Time Person of the Year over Trump by a margin of 58-17%.
And just like the election as well, Hillary woke up the following day holding a second place ribbon.
Here is the historic cover of Time Magazine:
Trump told the Today Show’s Matt Lauer that being named Person of the Year is “a tremendous honor,” but took exception to the caption which reads “President of the Divided States of America.”
“When you say ‘divided states of America,’ I didn’t divide them,” Trump said. “They’re divided now, there’s a lot of division. And we’re going to put it back together.”
Trump is correct. Nobody has divided this country more than our current President, Barack Obama. By economic divisions, racial divisions, religious divisions – nobody has fundamentally changed America for the worse the way Obama has.
