Al Sharpton has forgiven Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the disparaging remarks he made about the alleged reverend in a diary.  In one entry, Kennedy claimed that Sharpton had “done more damage to the black cause than George Wallace.”

In other words, Kennedy wrote what people actually think about Sharpton, but are unwilling to say.  Had this been anybody other than a Kennedy democrat, Sharpton would be leading riots and protests, inciting violence.

Via the New York Post:

The Rev. Al Sharpton forgave Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Monday for a vicious attack in which the environmentalist said the civil-rights activist “has done more damage to the black cause than George Wallace.”

“I accept Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s statements that these are not his current views,” Sharpton said after The Post exclusively revealed the damning opinion, found in a copy of Kennedy’s 2001 diary.

In the diary, Kennedy ripped into Sharpton, calling him a “buffoon” and saying he and the Rev. Jesse Jackson “give me the creeps.”

He accused Sharpton of having “suffocated the decent black leaders in New York” with his “venal blackmail and extortion schemes.”

It’s incredible to see media outlets continue to refer to Sharpton as a civil-rights leader.  The man fabricated a racially motivated rape case in 1987.  He went on a television show and called an audience member a “punk faggot.”  He never paid the people he slandered with his lies.  In 1991, he led anti-Semitic riots that led to the death of an innocent student.  In 1995, he led further anti-Semitic protests against Freddy’s Fashion Mart, which resulted in four patrons being shot, and the store being set on fire, killing seven people.

It’s not that Sharpton has “done damage to the black cause” as Kennedy states.  It’s the amount of damage he has done for the cause of humanity.
