Snoop Lion, formerly known as the cannabis-loving artist, Snoop Dogg, is hosting a roundtable discussion on gun violence called “No Guns Allowed”. The event will be held this weekend and will include additional speakers, one such speaker being Congresswoman Maxine Waters.
A message from the Cashmere Industry (h/t Bruce) reads:
Do you think you could share information about the No Guns Allowed: Disarming Violence in Our Community roundtable hosted by Snoop Lion (aka Snoop Dogg) and Executive Director of the League of Young Voters Dr. Rob “Biko” Baker? The panel also includes rapper T.I., Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and other community thought-leaders who will weigh in on a much needed discussion on gun violence and how it affects our society. The panel takes place on Saturday, June 29th at 4 pm PT at JW Marriott, LA Live during BET Experience.
Snoop, both Lion and Dogg, has the less than tough guy name of Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr., in real life.
In 1993, Calvin was arrested and later acquitted in the death of a rival gang member who was shot by one of his bodyguards. He was driving the vehicle that started the drive-by shooting.
In 1997, Calvin pled guilty to possession of a handgun.
And in 2006, Calvin was again arrested for possession of a firearm after taping an appearance on the Tonight Show.
With that in mind, please check out Calvin’s #NoGunsAllowed video…
