Having clearly exceeded their level of disgust when it comes to demonizing the city’s police force, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has been told by police to stay away from any officer’s funeral should they be killed in the line of duty.

De Blasio has made a series of incendiary comments about his own police force in the wake of the Eric Garner incident and subsequent lack of indictment. Garner was placed in a chokehold by a police officer, with many complaining he used excessive force.

De Blasio, rather than trying to quell fears by saying this might be an isolated non-racial incident, and that it will be thoroughly investigated, has indicated that the police were motivated by “centuries of racism.” He would also go on to state that he has had to tell his son Dante, who is biracial, that he should never reach for his cellphone when interacting with police because he ‘might be misinterpreted if it was a young man of color’ by police.

Now, the NYPD has had enough.

New York City’s rank-and-file police union is urging cops to tell Mayor Bill de Blasio not to attend their funerals in the event that they are killed in the line of duty.

The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association posted a link on its website telling members not to let de Blasio and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito “insult their sacrifice” should they be killed. The union posted a “Don’t Insult My Sacrifice” waiver officers can sign requesting the two politicians not attend their funerals due to their “consistent refusal to show police officers the support and respect they deserve.”

The waiver says that attendance of the two elected officials “at the funeral of a fallen New York City police officer is an insult to that officer’s memory and sacrifice.”

Here is video of de Blasio saying his own police force is driven by “centuries of racism.”

And here is an interview with Sergeant Ed Mullins, where he discusses de Blasio and his family needing to leave New York City.
