In announcing executive actions he is taking to curb Second Amendment rights in America, President Obama used a very peculiar example of what our overall goal should be.

America, he hinted, needs to be more like Communist China.

China heavily regulates firearms and generally does not allow citizens to possess guns.

Via the Daily Caller:

President Barack Obama used communist China, which has very strict gun ownership laws, as an illustration for the benefits of enhanced gun control on a populace.

Speaking at the White House on Tuesday, Obama acknowledged, “We know we can’t stop every act of violence, every act of evil in the world. But maybe we can try to stop one act of evil, one act of violence.”

“Some of you may recall at the same time that Sandy Hook happened, a disturbed person in China took a knife and tried to kill, with a knife a bunch of children in China. But most of them survived because he didn’t have access to a powerful weapon,” Obama claimed. In one knife attack in China in 2012, a 36-year old man stabbed 22 kids and an 85-year old woman.

Actually, the stabbing attacks in China don’t demonstrate that disarming the people lessens violence. Rather, it demonstrates that gun control leaves the innocent much more vulnerable.

The knife-wielding lunatic was eventually subdued by armed security guards.

In another attack in 2014, a group of Chinese attackers armed with knives stormed a train station … and were eventually shot dead by good guys with guns.

Via Breitbart:

China has used draconian gun control measures to keep the Chinese people disarmed. However, as the attack on March 1st reminds us, once a population is disarmed, a successful attack with more primitive weapons becomes feasible.

Perhaps, but it won’t just involve primitive weapons. Criminals will still get their guns.

When President Obama says that these types of mass shootings don’t happen in other countries like China, he is flat-out lying. Even the left-leaning Politifact said that claim is false, citing mass shootings in 11 other countries … including the People’s Republic of China.

They also mention that “mass stabbings are not uncommon in such places.”
