Americans are getting a little fed up with Democrats obstructing every move President Trump makes. That’s why a new poll indicates that Americans, by an overwhelming majority, do not want the Democrat Party to block the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the highest court in the land.
By a 58 to 38% margin, respondents said they don’t want to see any extreme measures – including the filibuster – employed to block Gorsuch.
In other words, Democrats are being told in a loud collective voice to stand down and get out of the way of real progress.
Senate Democrats began planning to filibuster President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch almost immediately after the announcement, but that may not be what Americans want.
A recent AOL News poll shows the majority of people surveyed do not think Democrats should try to block the president’s Supreme Court nominee. Of the thousands polled, 58 percent said Democrats should not endure the extreme measures that would be necessary to block Gorsuch from being confirmed to the position.
Just 38 percent of respondents believe Democratic lawmakers should attempt to block Gorsuch, and 5 percent said they weren’t sure.
Will Democrats listen to the people’s demands? Not likely, which is exactly why 2016 was such a brutal election cycle for their party, and why it will likely grow even worse in 2018.
They’re tone-deaf to the will of the people, and totally out-of-touch.
Case in point: The Democrat Party’s extreme obstructionist plan began before Gorsuch was even selected. Party leaders pledged to filibuster the choice no matter who was selected.
Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York, said that he will fight “tooth and nail” any nominee who isn’t “mainstream.”
Tells you all you need to know about the Democrats, 2017. Senate Dems will filibuster Trump’s Supreme Court nominee https://t.co/9W8je57pOv

The bottom line remains the same, however – no matter how hard they obstruct or filibuster Gorsuch’s nomination, it all amounts to little more than grandstanding in the end. Republicans can still employ the “nuclear option” to get Trump’s pick on the Supreme Court, something the President himself has endorsed.
Who knows – maybe the Democrats will just finally accept what the American people want and act accordingly.
But we wouldn’t recommend holding your breath.
