With Chris Christie and the Republican Governor’s Association still actively looking for a set, a new GOP group is banding together to target the scandal-plagued Cuomo administration and help fund the campaign of Republican Rob Astorino.

The group, Rescue New York, Inc., has filed paperwork with the Board of Elections.  Rescue New York’s treasurer has significant ties with some of the nation’s most prominent Republicans.

Papers have been filed with the state Board of Elections to form “Rescue New York, Inc.” The group’s treasurer is Lisa Lisker, whose political compliance firm is based in Virginia, and who has worked for Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign and many other national GOP figures. Her partner, Keith Davis, was involved in spending efforts in New York’s 2006 elections, and both were involved with a political action committee to help New York freshman Republicans in 2012.

According to a spokesman for the state Board of Elections, the group’s paperwork states that it was formed to support Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino, and to oppose Mr. Cuomo.

New Jersey governor Chris Christie last month announced that he and the Republican Governor’s Association (RGA) would not be supporting gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino in his bid to upset Governor Andrew Cuomo. Christie referred to Astorino’s campaign as a “lost cause.” Since then, Cuomo has suffered a massive hit with the Moreland scandal, something Christie cowardly has refused to talk about.

Fellow Republicans started firing back however, with Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin saying ‘Christie is stabbing Astorino in the back,’ and former Republican Governor of New York, George Pataki, calling Christie’s lack of action “incomprehensible and disappointing.”
