Planned Parenthood Advocates of New York has announced the formation of a Political Action Committee (PAC).  The PAC is designed to push a specific abortion expansion platform through monetary support of friendly Democrat candidates.

The Times Union reports:

Backed by legislative allies, Planned Parenthood Advocates of New York announced the creation of a political action committee designed to help flip the state Senate to full Democratic control.

The PAC held its first fundraiser Monday night at 677 Prime in Albany, where tickets ranged in price from $25 to $1,000.

“There has been no option left to us,” said M. Tracey Books, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Advocates, citing the continued Republican blockade of the abortion plank of the Women’s Equality Act.

The WEA includes the Reproductive Health Act, which would expand abortion access in a state already known as being abortion-friendly, but a state in which inspection of their clinics is practically non-existent.

Lawmakers have already Introduced nine standalone pieces of legislation, but the Democrat majority continues to insist on including the abortion expansion plank.

As is the norm, Planned Parenthood advocates are misguided in their analysis.  It isn’t a Republican blockade that is holding up the WEA, it is Democrat’s insistence on forcing the abortion platform into the legislation, and their disdain for a compromise toward the basic premise of a child’s right to life.

Neither Planned Parenthood, nor the Democrats are interested in women’s rights.  Democrats want legislation that will buy them pro-abortion votes, while Planned Parenthood is an abortion mill seeking only to allow women to choose convenience over the life of their child.

This new PAC will achieve those goals by funding Democrats almost exclusively.  An OpenSecrets analysis demonstrates this.  During the 2006 election cycle, 91% of Planned Parenthood campaign donations went to Democrats.  In 2008, 98% went to Democrats.  In 2010 and 2012, 99%.  Thus far in 2014, 100% of contributions have gone to the pro-abortion Democrat party.

Perhaps more telling as to the Planned Parenthood PAC’s intentions is the liberal reporter’s original assessment of the news.  In the excerpt above, the Times Union reports that the PAC was “designed to help flip the state Senate to full Democratic control.”  In the original report however, the Times Union and that same reporter were slightly more honest with their readers.

“Backed by legislative allies, Planned Parenthood Advocates of New York announced the creation of a Political Action Committee designed to aid its friends and crush its enemies in this fall’s elections.”

There is no better demonstration of the PAC’s true intentions, and the re-write offers a rare glimpse into your liberal media in action.
