Well I certainly hope they aren’t advocating doing both at the same time. ‘Cause even in a hail of bullets, nobody should risk their safety by running with scissors.
The Department of Homeland Security has issued an advice video of sorts, which instructs office workers on what to do should their workplace be overrun by a crazed gunman.
According to the Daily Mail, the video suggests that workers ‘tackle crazed gunmen with SCISSORS or just hide under your desk’.
Of course, if liberals get their way, scissors may be the only weapon of choice for law-abiding citizens in the future.
The Daily Mail reports:
The U.S Government has issued a controversial video telling office workers what to do should a crazed gunman storms their building.
Issued by Homeland Security, the video, called Active Shooter Situation: Options for Consideration, tells workers to flee if it is safe or find a hiding place if trapped should a gunman storm the building.
The video even advises using scissors as a weapon to defend yourself if your are caught in the open.
The four minute clip begins with chilling images of some of the most deadly public shootings in recent U.S history including the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre which saw 32 people shot dead, the 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood in Texas and the attempted assassination of former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in 2011.
We here at the Mental Recession have obtained exclusive footage from the Homeland Security video, seen below…
Oh wait … Sorry about that. Wrong clip.
Here’s the actual advice video obtained by the Daily Mail…
Of course, we all know how well the scissors defense works in real life. In August, in a post titled Proof in a Single Sentence That Guns Don’t Kill People, Gun Control Kills People, we wrote:
If ever there were a more descriptive sentence on the issue of gun control, and why curbing Second Amendment rights only serves to hurt or even kill law-abiding citizens, I have yet to see it.
“The dead included temple President Satwant Singh Kaleka, who was shot as he tried to fend off the shooter with a butter knife.“
Of course, if Homeland Security is deeming scissors to be a far more effective weapon than say, a butter knife, it begs the question – are scissors now considered an assault weapon?
