It’s a fiscal conservative against the establishment GOP brawl, and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) is holding nothing back.
Gohmert claimed that House leadership refused to even discuss the $1.1 trillion ‘cromnibus’ spending bill that just passed the House yesterday.
He said, “There’s just all kinds of money in there for things we don’t support.” This includes funding for abortion programs such as the United Nations Population Fund, funding for EPA programs designed to hurt economies in states like Texas and Arizona, and conservatives have complained that the bill funds President Obama’s executive amnesty plan.
Gohmert went on Sean Hannity’s show last night to blast House leadership, most notably Speaker John Boehner for not working with conservatives, but rather turning to “the President and liberal Democrats.”
Gohmert added that he thinks Boehner could now pick up some Democrat votes for Speaker.
Here is a transcript from the Gateway Pundit:
Rep. Louie Gohmert: Some of us had gone to our leadership and said… Let’s fund everything for two months. Let us have a vote on defunding Obamacare… We were willing to work with him, to compromise. And not one word as you know. The calls went to the White House. When in time when the Speaker needed votes he turned to someone he really identifies with, the president and liberal Democrats. And got them to help him pass this vote…
Sean Hannity: Do you think either one of you that this impacts John Boehner’s running for reelection as Speaker? Is this going to come up in play now?
Louie Gohmert:I think he ought to be able to pick up some Democratic votes for Speaker.
What do you think about Boehner’s performance? Do you agree that he identifies better with the President and liberal Democrats?
