President Obama, currently enthralled with the notion of using executive orders to help curtail gun usage, purchasing, and trafficking, recently received quite the black eye when one of the guns used in his administration’s Fast and Furious operation was found at the hideout of drug kingpin ‘El Chapo.’

Via Fox News:

A .50-caliber rifle found at Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s hideout in Mexico was funneled through the gun-smuggling investigation known as Fast and Furious, sources confirmed Tuesday to Fox News.

A .50-caliber is a massive rifle that can stop a car or, as it was intended, take down a helicopter.

After the raid on Jan. 8 in the city of Los Mochis that killed five of his men and wounded one Mexican marine, officials found a number of weapons inside the house where Guzman was staying, including the rifle, officials said.

When agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives checked serial numbers of the eight weapons found in his possession, they found one of the two .50-caliber weapons traced back to the ATF program, sources said.

Jeff Dunetz at The Lid writes:

The Fast and Furious weapons ceded to the drug cartels have been used for other crimes in Mexico, used to kill a Border Agent named Brian Terry, and turned up  at the scenes of violent crimes in Phoenix, as well as at least 11 other violent crimes across the country.

In December of 2012, a Mexican beauty queen named Maria Susana Flores Gamez was murdered, and the crime scene yielded another gun provided by the Obama administration’s botched operation.

Here is a recent statement from the White House on their efforts to “make our communities safer from gun violence”:

ATF has established an Internet Investigation Center to track illegal online firearms trafficking and is dedicating $4 million and additional personnel to enhance the National Integrated Ballistics Information Network.

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) also recently added that Congress should help the President make “straw purchasing and gun trafficking federal crimes to give law enforcement the tools to combat the flood of illegal weapons across state lines.”

Does that include weapons illegally flooding across the Mexican border as well?

We have an administration over-reacting and using every tragedy to further their gun control agenda by limiting access to law-abiding American citizens, while wantonly arming Mexican drug cartels and drug kingpins like ‘El Chapo,’ while never having to answer for it.
