Video taken by a man walking his dogs past the Congressional baseball practice has emerged, showing a frightening scene in which bullet after bullet rings out in an attempt to assassinate multiple Republican lawmakers.
James Hodgkinson, a far-left Bernie Sanders supporter, opened fire at the ball field, critically injuring congressman Steve Scalise, along with four others.
Scalise remains in critical condition.
Video taken with a cell phone by a man named Noah Nathan, shows the scope of Hodgkinson’s attack, and how this could have been a far worse tragedy. It is clear Hodgkinson was trying to mow down as many Republican lawmakers as he could. The fact that he is the only person to die on that field is practically a miracle.

Dramatic video from the shooting in Alexandria, Virginia, captured some of the chaos that ensued when a 66-year-old left-wing zealot opened fire on the GOP congressional baseball team.
More than 25 bullets can be heard ripping through the air in the footage, which was captured by witness Noah Nathan close to the field at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park.
At one point, a man can be seen lying in the middle of the field.
“I’m just lying on the ground holding on to my dogs making sure they don’t get away,” Nathan told reporters. “I’m sort of thinking, ‘I hope I don’t get shot,'”
He added that he was aware Republicans were out practicing, since they’d been preparing for their game “most mornings.”
The video clearly shows that, as Sen. Rand Paul described it, the attack “would’ve been a massacre” if not for Capitol Police who were on security detail for Scalise.
Weeks prior to the shooting, Hodgkinson announced on social media that “It’s Time to Destroy Trump & Co.”
He followed through on that threat in a truly harrowing manner.
