A Texas congressman said Hillary Clinton’s actions in exposing classified information to foreign agents amounts to “treason.”
Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) was responding to reports that FBI insiders are “99 percent sure” that the email server Clinton used during her time as Secretary of State was breached by multiple foreign hackers.
“In my opinion, quite frankly, it’s treason,” McCaul said during a Fox News interview.

Rep. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, on Thursday said Hillary Clinton’s exposing sensitive information to potentially multiple hacks from foreign actors amounts to treason.
“This is why you have security protocols — to protect classified information,” Mr. McCaul said on “Fox and Friends.” “She exposed it to our enemies, and now … our adversaries have this very sensitive information that not only jeopardizes her and national security at home, but the men and women serving overseas.”
“In my opinion, quite frankly, it’s treason,” said Mr. McCaul, Texas Republican.
McCaul, who it should be noted is the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, explained that Clinton would “absolutely” be exposed to potential blackmail from these foreign countries if elected president.
“She took those devices overseas against the State Department’s wishes and now we find out, as James Comey told me previously, that it’s very likely that foreign adversary nations got into her private server,” McCaul said.
“Those are the most classified, sensitive secrets in the federal government,” he added. “Many of them covert operations.”
McCaul has also said that Clinton, should she defeat Donald Trump on Tuesday, could face impeachment proceedings right from the onset.
